Alice Cope (Mayer) Seese

            Alice Cope Seese, formerly of Darby MT passed away Wednesday, July 6th, 2016 at the Aaron Care Home in Corvallis, succumbing to pneumonia. She was born October 6th, 1922 in Canfield, Ohio, the daughter of the late Fred and Blanche Mayer.

            Alice was raised in Canfield but later moved to Columbiana where she graduated high school in 1941. She continued her education at Salem City School of Nursing. She was married to Robert F. Cope, 1946 to 1957, then was married to Charles Seese in 1973 until the time of his passing in 1980.

            She enjoyed antique collecting and sales, splitting time between Southern California and Canton, Ohio while pursuing her endeavors as a collector. She bought a house and settled into the town of Darby, Montana in 1985, after falling in love with the area while visiting her daughter.

            Alice is survived by her daughters, Necia (Niki) Cope Robbins of Victor, MT, and Dana Cope Mortensen of Darby, MT., son-in-law Terrell Mortensen, grandson Michael Cope of Ladera Ranch, CA, great grandsons Andrew and Jonah Cope, and numerous nieces and nephews in SC and NH.

            A Celebration of Life Memorial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 14th at the Daly-Leach Chapel in Hamilton.
