CORVALLIS - Charles Richard Ford, 78, of Corvallis, MT passed away May 11, 2017 at Marcus Daly Hospice Center, Hamilton, MT.  Charlie was born August 2, 1938 in Lansing, MI to Ellsworth and Eleanor Ford.

He graduated from Holt High School, Holt, MI in 1958, was Honorably Discharged from United States Marine Corps in 1963 and moved to Great Falls, MT.  Charlie met and married Joanne Gasvoda Platt in 1966.  1978 brought more changes when Charlie and family moved to Corvallis, MT and began Ford Construction. He built many custom homes and remodels in the area. Charlie earned an excellent reputation and leaves many friends and family.  He and his family spent vacations visiting family in Michigan and many "mini" vacations and camping in Montana.

After retirement, Charlie and Joanne spent winters in Arizona being near family there, RVing in the Southwest and visiting friends in Arizona and New Mexico.  The most special trip was being invited by Joanne's brother, Jay and sister-in-law, Shelly to their condo in Molokai, HI, so many beautiful islands and sights to see.  And even more special was meeting up with friends and family from Big Sandy, MT and Portland, OR.

Charles is survived by his wife, Joanne, of 51 years; son, Barry Platt of Missoula; daughter, Kim Duffy and her husband Mike and grandson, Christopher Otten all of San Tan Valley, AZ, 1 granddaughter, Amanda Maxwell and 3 great-grandchildren, Noel and Trey Grauberger and Bentley Maxwell all of Corvallis; brother-in-law, Jay Gasvoda and his wife Shelly and nephew, Derrik, all of Sula; and many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his mother and father; his brother, Justin Ford; and sister, Jeanette Blakeslee.

In keeping with Charlie's wishes there will not be a formal celebration of life. The family would like him to be remembered in prayers and thoughts.  Interment will take place at the Corvallis Cemetery at a later date.
