Clara Josephine "Jo" Ewing

Clara Josephine “Jo” Ewing 78 of Corvallis Montana ended her journey on this earth August 3rd 2017 after a difficult struggle with breast cancer and heart failure. She was an Air Force veteran, retired school bus driver and in her youth she played for the Arkansas Travelers owned by the famous Hazel Walker. This was one of the very first women’s professional basketball teams in the 40’s and 50’s. Jo moved to Montana in 1998 after retiring from Elk Grove school district in California. She left behind many dear friends to live in Montana with her grandchildren. Jo was preceded in death by her parents Charlie and Lily Bradbury of Arkansas, Her sister Loretta, brother Gerald and brother Floyd, nephew Greggory all from Arkansas, her husband George W. Ewing of California, and her youngest son Patrick Ewing of Florida and grandson Michael Privett-Ewing of Corvallis. Jo leaves behind her son Michael Ewing {Wendy} of Corvallis, her brother Alton “Hoot” Nelson (Peggy) of Arkansas, her niece Lisa Nelson and great nephew Greggory Nelson of Arkansas. She also leaves behind 4 grandchildren which will miss her dearly. Sydney Ewing of Corvallis Alexandria Anacleto (Sergio)of Hamilton Montana, Jacob Ewing and Grace Ewing all of Corvallis Montana. Sadly she departed before the birth of her first great- grandchild, a boy due in December 2017. We will miss her smile and her wry sense of humor. May all those who knew her rejoice in her salvation until we meet again in Heaven.
