Eleanor (Shorty) May (Azbill) Prosser, 88, passed away at White Oak Mannor, Rock Hill, SC on Wednesday, December 7. A loving sister, mother, and grandmother.

Ellen was born in North Hollywood, CA to Arthur and Mary E. (Burris) Azbill on May 10, 1928.  Ellen was one of 4 children. Ellen has two children Jacque Johnson and Danny McCarroll.

Ellen was preceded in death by her parents, brother Ruben Azbill, sister Betty Jane Baxter, her Uncle William and Aunt Alice Bryant, and her son.

Ellen lived a very adventures life.  Ellen was known for her strong “will” and “sassy” personality.  She was also an extremely independent woman.  Ellen enjoyed many outdoor activities such as gardening, mining for rocks and minerals with the local club, water skiing, fishing, watching NASCAR, rooting for the Atlanta Braves and L.A. Dodgers and was an avid animal lover.  She had owned multiple dogs, cats, a skunk, a horse, and even a bobcat in her lifetime.

Ellen retired after 25 years from Allied Bendix as a Line Supervisor in 1987. Ellen had a few amazing accomplishments while working at Bendix, she assisted with making the control lighting sets that were used in the original Star Wars movie and the creation of the Heat Tiles for the Space Shuttle Endeavor.  After retirement Ellen eventually settled in the Bitter Root Valley of Montana along with her siblings and their families.

Ellen is survived by her daughter, Jacque Johnson; her sister Joann Eckhart and her sons Donald and Clinton; 7 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 16, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. at the Daly-Leach Chapel with burial to follow at Riverview Cemetery in Hamilton. There will be a reception following the services in the funeral homes community room.
