Please come and join our family in celebrating Elsie’s life.

Elsie was born in Missoula, Montana on March, 22, 1919 at Saint Patrick Hospital.  Elsie went to school in De Smet Montana and attended business school at the U of M.

Elsie was married to Henry (Hank) Hamill whom she met working at the bus station in Anaconda, Montana. Elsie and Hank bought a home in Missoula, Montana and enjoyed many years together there with their two wiener dogs, both named Heidi.

Elsie worked as a secretary for the Montana Power for over 40 years. Elsie enjoyed going to church, knitting, crocheting, cooking, going out to eat with family and friends and last but by no means least shopping. Elsie truly loved volunteering at St Francis church to help out with funerals, weddings and other occasions they may need help with. Elsie never knew a stranger and her generosity was second to none and one thing is for sure, if you ever went to visit Elsie at home, It would certainly be your own fault if you left hungry, candy, nuts, cookies, cheese, salami among other goodies were always in abundance. Elsie was greatly loved and will be missed by many, her smile, kind heart and generosity was genuine and priceless. Elsie was a lady with class, integrity and dignity and will never be forgotten.

Elsie is survived by her grandchildren, Bruce Kopperud, Amy (Kopperud) and her husband Kevin McCormick, Karla (Kopperud) and her husband Dean Penfield; great- grandchildren, Olivia and Durc Penfield; niece’s, Rose Ann Erickson, Mary Ann (Pepe) Bedard; nephews, Joe Pepe and his wife Bonnie, John Pepe and his wife Dixie; and several great and great-great-nieces and nephews.

Elsie is preceded in death by her father, Antonio Pepe; her mother, Ana Marsillo Pepe; her sister, Mary Pepe Small; her brother’s, Albert Pepe and his wife Ann and Victor Pepe and his wife Mabel; and daughter, Carol Hamill Kopperud and her husband Bob Kopperud.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, September 29, 2017 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Francis Xavier in Missoula with a reception following at the church.  Interment will take place following the reception at Old St. Mary’s Cemetery in Missoula.
