Teresa (Terry) Ellen Erickson of 146 Deer Haven Drive Hamilton, MT was born in Missoula on March 26th 1943. She suffered a stroke on the evening of July 7th 2016, and passed away peacefully early the following morning at Marcus Day Memorial Hospital in Hamilton.

She was the daughter of Thomas and Mary Shaughnessy of DeSmet. There she grew up and attended grades 1-8 in the old brick, one-room school house on Hwy 93 that still stands just west of the Missoula Fire Sciences Laboratory.

Terry graduated from Missoula County High School in 1960 and lived most of her life in Missoula and the Bitterroot Valley. She and husband Ron were married on the 7th of March 1973. She worked for many years at Ravalli County Bank and retired as a loan officer in 2006.

In the late 70's, and early 80's, Terry and Ron were well known throughout the area for playing and singing "oldies" in many local night clubs. Her lifelong hobby was gardening - first to provide her family with fresh vegetables, then later to create a colorful yard full of flowers for all to enjoy. They also traveled most of the Western states in their motor home. Her other hobbies included painting and poetry. She also wrote a series of children's' books based upon real characters that she illustrated herself. On the pistol range, nobody in the family could match her with a .38 revolver.

Late in life, one of Terry's greatest pleasures was to relax at home on the deck next to the flower garden and pond, which was always full of entertainment provided by the "cool cat" as well as the numerous  ducks, geese, squirrels, bull frogs, turtles, deer, pheasants, quail, peacocks, and other birds of every description that were always there.

Terry is survived by her husband Ron, sons James and Russell, grandson Bailey, granddaughter Cassie, sister Natalie, brother Thomas, and numerous friends and relatives throughout the country and abroad. She was preceded in death by her parents, and sister Rosie.

Arrangements are in the care of the Daly-Leach Funeral Home. No services are scheduled, however a memorial will be scheduled at a future date. In lieu of flowers, donations should be made to the Bitterroot Humane Association.
