Thinking about Mick tonight. We worked together in the USFS. I feel bad that I didn't make it back down to Hamilton before he passed. I ran into him at a restaurant and I told him I'd be back. He and Bill Frost were my mentors. He understood fire like no other.

Sorry to hear of Mick's passing. He was the seasoned veteran FMO when I arrived as a new District Ranger almost 30 years ago. I still recall the first flight I took with him on air patrol over the forest and marveled at how he knew the landscape so well. and could predict fire behavior. He was a ready source of wisdom. Best wishes to the family.

Dear Shirley and Family....sending my deepest sympathy and condolences to you. Mick was a wonderful friend and mentor to Jerry. We were both so very appreciative when Mick invited Jerry to accompany him on that unforgettable trip to Alaska to fish and visit with Craig and Nancy. Mick was a wonderful friend to both of us and I will always remember his talented writing and poetry.
