Wilma L. Brown, 94, of Hamilton passed away Monday morning at the BeeHive Assisted Living Center in Hamilton, Mt.. She was born March 24, 1923 in Boulder Co. the daughter of Thelma Louise Herriff and Carroll Wright.

Billie, as she was known to all, was raised in Alameda, Ca. She married her high school sweetheart on August 4, 1942 in Pensacola Florida. They were married almost 55 years.

Billie and her husband were very active in clubs involving sports cars. They were a founding couple of the LATG (Los Altos Touring Group) Porsche Club of America, and The Peninsula T Register.

Billie raised her children in Los Altos, Ca where they had a home for 32 years

On retirement they moved to Pebble Beach.

Billie loved to garden and had the same green thumb as her mother.

On Stuart’s death in 1997 she became very active in the Pacific Grove, Ca. Discovery Shop. She was on the board and initiated the Bear Affair yearly event. When Billie was in Bear mode her home was filled to capacity with hundreds of bears in various needs of repair. She really loved it!

In 2014 she made the decision to relocate to be closer to her daughter and grandson. She rapidly made new friends while cashiering for her daughter at The Ugly Bunny Baked Goods booth at the Hamilton Farmer’s Market.

Billie is survived by her son, David S. Brown of Meadow Vista, Ca; daughter, Judy Atwell of Corvallis, Mt and her grandson Scott Harding of Helena, Mt; numerous nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her sisters, Rosemary Streib, Jane LoPolito and her brother James Carroll Wright.

Funeral Service will be held at Daly-Leach Chapel in Hamilton on Thursday April 27th at 2:00 pm.  graveside services will follow at Riverview Cemetery in Hamilton.

The family requests that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society or the WWII Museum.
