Alice was born to Clarence & Effie Liudahl on February 18, 1925, in a little farm house near Columbus, MT. She was later joined in the family by her siblings, Evelyn & David. Her early life was spent in eastern Montana before moving to Hamilton, where she graduated from high school as valedictorian of her class in 1942. Later that year, on September 4, she married Russell Kennedy. They lived for awhile in California, but spent most of their married lives in Oregon & Washington. They were blessed with 5 children: Jerry, Judy, Janet, Jewel & Janice. Both Janet & Janice passed away in childhood. Following the tragic drownings of Russell & Janice in 1966 Alice became an LPN & worked in a hospital in Enumclaw, WA. On January 1, 1970, she married Harry Uhde, who had 5 adult children of his own: Lillian Jean, Harold, Donita, Don & Karl. She “adopted” & loved them & their families as her own. In 1981 she & Harry moved to Hamilton, where they enjoyed gardening, participating in the fair, & were active in the Hamilton Assembly of God & Victor Nazarene churches. After Harry passed away in 2003 Alice continued living there until she turned 90, when she went to live with her daughter & son-in-law, Judy & David Delgatty, in Bozeman, MT. She was promoted to Heaven on her 94th birthday.
A celebration of Alice's life will be on March 6, 11:00, at Hamilton Assembly of God Church, 601 W Main St. Condolences may be left for the family at www.dalyleachchapel.com.
