On September 24, 2017, Allen Jack Dickerson (34) was killed in a one vehicle accident on Lost Trail Pass.

Allen was born in Havre, Montana, on June 28, 1983, the elder son of Trudy (Whitlock) and Martin Dickerson.  Allen attended school in Dillon, MT. He played for the first Beaverhead County High School football team to win a state championship in 2000. He moved to Noxon during his senior year, graduating from Noxon High School in 2001. After graduation, Allen continued to be involved with football by coaching for the school in Noxon.

Even as a young boy, he loved children of all ages and was an honorary uncle to children of his many friends. He always liked to be with them and willingly took care of them whether it meant playing, feeding, bathing, or even changing messy diapers.

Not liking to be indoors, Allen worked as a fisherman on the coast of Alaska near King Salmon in the summer and as a mechanic/maintenance person at Lost Trail Ski area in the winter.  In his “spare time” he worked as a general handyman for a family friend. When he was able to find the time, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, skiing, and camping. He was always willing to help a friend, be it on a vehicle, moving, carpentry, and just about anything else.

Allen is survived by his mother, Trudy Dickerson of Deer Lodge, MT, his brother Matthew (Tara),nephew Carl, and niece Lorelei of Dickinson, ND, grandparents Jim and Jo Ann Whitlock, Hamilton, MT, Uncle Bryan Whitlock, Corvallis, Uncle Randy Whitlock, Whitefish MT, Aunt Beverly (Fritz) Bates of Clearmont, WY, Uncle Scott Dickerson of Kalispell, MT, and numerous cousins. Allen was preceded in death by his father Martin Dickerson, his grandparents Cecil and Shirley Dickerson, and Uncle Gil Dickerson.

Memorial service will be held at the Darby Logger Days ground at noon on Saturday the 30th.
