Benjamin Ricciardi Obituary

Darby - Benjamin "Chubby" Ricciardi, 82, of Darby Montana,  passed away suddenly at his home on Sunday, October 20, 2019.  He was born in New Brunswick and raised in Atlantic City New Jersey.

Benjamin began serving our country by exaggerating his age and enlisting in the National Guard at the age of 15.  He then committed to serving our country a second time by enlisting in the U.S. Navy where he became a rescue diver and was a golden gloves boxer.

Benjamin was a successful entrepreneur and a trailblazer that never took no for an answer and always walked to the beat of his own drum.  He has been featured in multiple publications for business and for acts of bravery.  Benjamin touched many lives and will always he remembered by those who were fortunate enough to know him.  While serving as a rescue Fire fighter/scuba diver for the Federal Aviation Administration he received several accolades for heroism.

Benjamin lived much of his life living between South Florida, Montana and Eagle Lake Maine, where he owned and operated several businesses including the Eagle Lake Sporting camps, Chubbys Sportman Inn, and the Old Mill Marina - ultimately retiring in Darby, Montana.

He is survived by his wife Betty Ricciardi, of MT; his children, Richard Ricciardi,of SC,  Frances Ricciardi Pittman (Fred) of SC,  Michael Ricciardi (Rose) of MT, Brenda Ricciardi DellaVecchia (John) of NJ, Tamera Ricciardi Wade (Paul) of SC, Ron Ricciardi (Amy) of ME and Mark Paradis (Jackie) of FL; his brother, William Biscieiglia, (Carol) of NJ; his grandsons, the late Adam Ricciardi, Michael Durland, Benjamin Ricciardi, Michael Ricciardi, Christopher Ricciardi, Ryan Ricciardi, Travis Teate, and Ronnie Ricciardi; his granddaughters, Charlene Hardy, Mandy Ricciardi, Melissa Lambros, Emily Lebiedz, Tara Teate, Tiffany Williams, Kimberly Ricciardi, Samantha Ricciardi; and many beloved great-grandchildren; lifelong friend, Art Hanson Sr; and many cousins.
