Clifford Ellison Horton
October 12, 1928 ~ January 5, 2018 (age 89) 89 Years OldClifford Ellison Horton
Cliff Horton, 89, of Hamilton, passed away January 5, 2017 at the Marcus Daly Hospice. Cliff is survived by his wife Bennielee and their three children Debbie Newcomb, Dale (Jody) Horton, and Gayle (Jim) Cook. Cliff was especially proud of his six grandsons. He is also survived by ten great grandchildren.
Cliff grew up working with his father on a citrus orchard in Escondido, California, where they formed a warm and abiding bond. He served two tours in the army including 18 months with the occupational forces in South Korea. He lived and worked in San Diego County for 57 years before moving to Montana. Cliff found living in Montana exciting and satisfying.
Devotion and responsibility to his family were at the core of who he was. His family never had reason to doubt his love. He enjoyed fishing, especially if a motor was involved. In fact, he enjoyed almost anything with a motor whether it was a boat motor, tractor, or the truck that was pulling a camp trailer. One of his passions during his early family years was camping vacations that took the family all over the western states. He was a member of the Canyon View Church and enjoyed his many friends there.
A celebration of life event will be held Friday, January 12, 3:00 P.M. at the Daly-Leach Memorial Chapel, 1010 W. Main St., Hamilton. In lieu of gifts of flowers the family suggests donations to the Marcus Daly Hospice.
