Donna Jean (Carman) Taylor

HAMILTON - Donna Jean Taylor, 80, of Hamilton passed away Saturday, June 17, 2017 at Marcus Daly Memorial Hospital.  She was born May 11, 1937 in Moscow, Idaho to Frank and Delila Carman.

Donna moved to Grantsdale, Montana from Idaho with her family as a young girl.  She attended school at Grantsdale Elementary and Hamilton High School.  After high school, Donna attended Cosmetology school in Missoula, Montana.  Donna married the one and only love of her life, Robert Russell Taylor in 1963. Together, they raised their two sons, Rod and Randy Taylor. Aside from raising her two sons, Donna also worked at Western States Insurance while doing hair on the side.  She then worked many years at Hamilton Floral for Buzz and Myra Greenup.

Donna was a member of the Lost Trail Ski Patrol.  She enjoyed volunteering her time on the mountain and made many lifelong friends while doing so.  Donna also enjoyed card club, breakfast on Tuesdays with her close friends, gardening, reading, canning, camping, fishing, hunting, and watching her son Rod drag race his Camaro.  But most of all, Donna loved spending time with her granddaughters.

Donna is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Taylor; her parents, Frank and Delila Carman; brothers, Victor Evans, Jim Evans, George Carman, Vernon Carman, Ray Carman, and her sisters, Myrtle Halseth and Dorothy Wood.

Donna is survived by her sister, Mildred Long (Oliver); son’s, Rod Taylor with wife Gloria, and Randy Taylor, both of Hamilton MT; seven granddaughters,  Jessica Jenne (Shane) of Stevensville MT, Janine Shook of Darby MT, Mimi Orais of Missoula MT, Holly Taylor of Hamilton MT, Keri Taylor of Corvallis MT, Alaiza Orais of Missoula MT, and KateLynn Taylor of Dillon MT; Twelve great grand kids: Austin Jenne, Naomi Jenne, Logan Jenne, Avery Rall, Peyton Rall, McKenzie Rall, Haylee McKinley, Clayton Beall, Cameron Beall, Brodee Beall, Taylor Koppes and Karsen Thrasher; her favorite grand-dog, Sammy; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Pallbearers are: Shane Jenne, Mike Root, Skylar Thrasher, JR Shook, Kenny Beall and Austin Jenne.

Services will be held on Friday, June 23rd at 2:00 p.m. at the Daly-Leach Chapel in Hamilton Montana. Private family interment will take place at Grantsdale Cemetery.
