George Wesley “Butch” Ewalt, 74 of Hamilton passed away Sunday, September 10, 2017 at Discovery Care Centre.

He was born December 4, 1942 in Glendive, MT to Samuel and Dorothy Ewalt.  Butch was the oldest of 12 children.  He attended school and graduated from Victor High School.  He was then drafted into the Army, trained on tanks at Ft. Hood, TX and served two years prior to being discharged.

Butch loved many things in life but nothing was more important to him then his family.  When asked about his 9 children, you had better just sit down because there was nothing he loved talking about more.  His other joys in life were his grandkids, his horses, the mountains, hunting and of course poker.

Butch was a cowboy from the start and spent time working as a ranch hand through the years, before finding his true calling as a hunting guide, which he did until his retirement.

Butch spent his last years at Discovery Care Centre, where he enjoyed playing bingo and pinochle with his friends.

Butch is preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Dorothy and a younger sister, Frankie.

He is survived by his 9 children, Warren (Sherri) Ewalt, Jennifer (Billy) Barr, Donna Ewalt, Stacey (Mike) Burlingham, Wes (Cami) Ewalt, Kaaren (John) Whalin, Nikki (Chris) Roper, Amber Archer, Heather (Dustin) Ewalt; 5 brothers and 5 sisters; 24 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, as well as numerous stepkids and grandkids.

Saddle up and hit the trail, the mountains are calling you home, we love you Dad!
