Harold K. Long
April 30, 1920 ~ June 5, 2017 (age 97) 97 Years OldHarold K. Long, 97 of Victor passed away Monday, June 5, 2017. He was born April 30, 1920 in Lewistown, Montana, the eldest son of 10 children born to Nellie Grace Richards and Philip D. Long.
Harold’s early years were spent on the family homestead beside the Mussellshel River in Central Montana. The family moved to Harrison, Idaho where he graduated from high school in 1941. Harold was a WWII veteran; he served with the 4th Marine Division and fought at Iwo Jima in 1945.
He married Dorothy Lillian Anne Douglas, on February 10, 1947 and is survived by his wife; 5 children, Huey, Sharon, Teresa, Kathy and Renee’; 16 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.
Graveside services will take place at 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 9th at the Victor Cemetery with military honors presented by the US Marine Corps, Marine Corps League – Bitterroot Detachment and the Hamilton American Legion.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday at the Hamilton Assembly of God Church, 601 W. Main St. Hamilton with Pastor John Weaver officiating.
The family suggests memorials to the Veterans Administration.
