Harry James Campbell Obituary

Harry James “Jim” Campbell 74, passed away peacefully at his home in Florence, MT on September 26, 2018 after a short battle with cancer.

Jim was born December 17, 1943 in Bozeman, MT to Clifford James Campbell and Opal Hope Schelin.  He went to school in Rosebud, MT.  Jim joined the US Navy in 1961 and was stationed in Southern California where he met Linda Jane Wells.  They married in June 1962 and had 4 children; Tanya, James, Derrill and Tracey.  They moved to Missoula in 1963.  They later divorced in 1972. 

Jim Met Starla Pettit in 1972.  They married in June 1974.  They has 3 children; Patrick, Sherri and Martin. 

Jim was a heavy equipment operator in Missoula for many years.  He worked for L.S. Jenson for about 24 years.  Jim then went on his own and had partners in business.  Jim and Starla then owned Campbell Construction for many years.  Jim had accumulated many life ling friends.

Jim enjoyed his family and friends.  He loved his yard and kept it very well manicured.   He also loved riding motorcycles, mostly Harley Davidsons. 

Jim is survived by his wife Starla Campbell; 5 children , Tanya (Dona) Campbell, Jim Campbell, Derrill (Christy) Campbell, Sherri (Warren) Ewalt and Martin Campbell; 16 grandchildren, Breanna, Shyla, Janae, Tyler, Reece, Trevor, Mattio, Brittany, Lindsay, Jamie, Amara, Tristin, Brieson, Cash, Dante, Ethan and Tiegan.  He has 6 great grandchildren, his sister Lorna (Jerry) Cantrell, numerous nephews and nieces, some of which he raised. 

Jim is preceded in death by his parents Clifford and Opal, his brother Clifford, his sister Julie, his son Patrick, his daughter Tracey, his grandson Dante, 3 nieces Judy Mae, Dianne and Susan, 2 nephews Jack and Todd. 

Jim’s family will have a memorial potluck next May 2019 on Memorial Day Weekend.   Everyone is welcome.  An announcement on Facebook will have the exact day, time and location.
