Heather Taylor Obituary

Heather Davidson Petrie Taylor nee Swankie was born a twin (Bruce, deceased) on August 5th, 1932 in London, Middlesex, England to Helen Petrie Swankie and James Strachan Swankie.  She left this life for the next on Monday, December 3rd in Missoula and is now in the arms of Jesus.

Heather was raised in Arbroath, Scotland and London, England.  She and her family endured WWII and the London Blitz and had great stories to tell.  She remained in London to work and met her future husband when she fell off a bus and into his arms.  She married American airman Charles Taylor on October 3, 1953.  They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 2003.  She loved the family they made together and her family cherished her.

They moved numerous times with the USAF until Chuck’s retiring in 1968.  They settled in Hamilton where Heather was a bookkeeper and travel agent.  She became a US Citizen in 1970 but continued to live and love her Scottish roots.  She went home to Scotland regularly visiting family in Arbroath and Carnoustie.  Interests included knitting, crocheting, puzzles, cards and travel.

Heather & Chuck became active members of the Hamilton Assembly of God.  Her legacy of faith will live on through family and friends.

Heather is survived by son Graham (Maria), daughter Beverly, daughter Cheryl (Ian), son Glenn (Kim), numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren as well as her sister Helen and brother Keith, both of Scotland.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, December 8th, 11am at the Hamilton Assembly of God with a reception following.  Private burial will take place at Riverview Cemetery in Hamilton.
