VICTOR – James E. Brummit, 69, of Victor, lost his battle with cancer on Thursday, January 16, 2020. His peaceful walk into Heaven took place in his home with loved ones present.
Jim was born July 18, 1950 in Olney, IL the son of Pearl (Pete) and Dorothy Brummit. The family moved to Colorado in 1954 where Jim grew up and graduated high school in 1970.
Jim served as a Sea Bee in the U.S. Navy from 1971 until 1975 where he learned his trade as an electrician and deepened his love for all things radio. After the service he moved back to Colorado and eventually started his 21-year career as a maintenance electrician for Coors Glass.
Jim married Kathleen (Kathy) DeIongh in September of 1985, combining their 2 families by adoption and making the new family even larger with the arrival of Vincent in 1986. With most of their children grown and out of the nest, they moved to Victor in May of 2001.
They embraced their new community and have formed friendships and neighbors unmatched in generosity and love.
Jim was an active member of the Bitterroot Amateur Radio Club, serving as President and Vice President many times since 2001. He enjoyed horse back riding, camping auctions, symphonies and classic cars.
