Hamilton - James Christopher Owens Sr., 58, passed away on the afternoon of February 15, 2018, in the arms of his family.

Chris was born in Waukegan Illinois. His father, Naval Commander John Daniel Owens, moved his family to San Diego, California, where Chris grew up. In high school he met Mary Margaret Luxem. They fell in love and were married in 1980 and had a son, James Christopher II, in 1983.

Right out of high school Chris started working at Rohr Aerospace Industries as a machinist, in quality control, and saw operator, in their Saw Department, in Chula Vista, California.

In 1995 Chris followed his son, James 11, to the Bitterroot Valley where he became loved by many, many, people.

James C. Owens Sr. is survived by his son, James C. Owens 11, his brother John Daniel Owens Jr., of San Diego, and his oldest and dearest friend, Mary Margaret Luxem-Perdue.
