Janet Marie Manning

Janet Marie Manning passed away on August 11, 2018 after a long battle with heart disease.  Jane, as her friends knew her, lived in Hamilton since 1976 and loved her dear friends and pets. She was born on June 22, 1930 in Akron, OH to Grace Naomi Farquhar and Herbert F. Pracejus, Sr.  She lived in Weymouth, MA during the war until her family moved to Las Vegas, NV in July of 1946. It was there at Las Vegas High School that Jane met the love of her life, Bart Manning and they were married in December 1950.   It was in Las Vegas that her three children, Ricky, Christy, and Brian were born. Jane and Bart moved to Victor, MT in the fall of 1975.

Jane was an accomplished woman.  She was bilingual in Spanish, played the guitar, had a beautiful singing voice, wrote poetry, loved to cook and was an acknowledged watercolor artist.  Her awards include ribbons from the Charles M. Russell Museum Juried Auction and several local fairs.  She received a first and second place award for her poetry in Nevada by the Las Vegas Bicentennial Committee in1976. She was a member of the Montana Watercolor Society, the Order of Eastern Star, Victor Chapter and was a volunteer at the Daly Mansion and Marcus Daly Hospital in Hamilton. She loved spending time with friends, perusing antique stores, galleries and museums almost as much as she loved walking her dogs, Rocky, Flissy, Sage and Molly.

Jane was preceded in death by her beloved husband Bart, children Ricky and Christy, her parents, and her brother, Herbert Pracejus, Jr.  She is survived by her beloved son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Mary Manning, two grandchildren, Zack and Nick, her sister and brother-n-law Nancy and Norman Craft, a niece and two nephews, Leslie Hawkins, Norman Craft and W.
