Larry Olsen of Hamilton, Montana passed away on June 15, 2019 at his home. He was 80 years of age. Larry was born on July 21, 1938 in Liberal, Kansas to Kenneth Donald and Mattie Irene Brinkley Olsen.
Larry served in the Army for 4 years. He was stationed in Germany where both of his daughters were born. Following his military service his parents purchased The Sportsman’s Lodge in Cooper Landing, Alaska. Larry took his first wife and children, along with his sister and her family to Alaska in 1965. They ran the Sportsman’s Lodge in Cooper Landing for over 9 years. Larry went to work as a heavy equipment operator in oil field services for ARCO in Prudhoe Bay. After Larry retired, he moved to Montana in 1990 with his parents. Here he started Valley Taxi where he owned and operated the business 3 years. Larry enjoyed ranching and the farming life.
He is preceded in death by his parents. Larry is survived by his wife Elaine of Hamilton; daughters Lynett Barley of Deary, Idaho and Diana Lindsey of Anchorage, Alaska; step son Victory Pizzola of Hamilton; sister Janice Osowiecki of Thomaston, Connecticut; many nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
At Larry’s request, no formal services will be held. Donations may be made in Larry’s name to your favorite charity.
