Lee Cline Obituary

On Monday, April 22, 2019, Lee Edward Cline, loving husband and father, passed away at the age of 82.

Lee was born on July 28, 1936 in Renton, WA to Lloyd and Dorothy (Vernon) Cline.  He attended the University of Washington but left to consider a pro baseball career before joining the Army.  He served from November 14, 1955 until discharge on November 17, 1958 with the rank of Specialist Fourth Class.  Lee then worked in a variety of professions, including owning and operating several businesses.

Lee was an outdoorsman, and found paradise when he and Joan moved from the Seattle area to the Bitterroot Valley in 1998.  Throughout his life, he enjoyed camping, fishing, hiking, prospecting, rock hunting, and raising chickens and sheep.  He was a master of many trades, skilled mechanic, gardener, and earned his pilot's license to fly small aircraft.  Lee enjoyed all types of music, sang in his church choir, and was a talented trombonist, playing in marching bands and community bands, including the Bitterroot Community Band.

In the late 1960s, Lee began understanding God's word through the Seattle congregation of the Worldwide Church God, and for the rest of his life, devoted himself to God, and shared God's word with others.

Lee was preceded in death by his parents, brother John and sister Elinor.  He is survived by his wife Joan, two children Lisa (Joel) and Jeff (Catherine), two stepchildren Anna (Wayne) and Linda, and two granddaughters Rachel and Emily.

A reception to celebrate Lee's life will be held on May 2, 2019 at Daly-Leach Memorial Chapel, 1010 West Main Street, Hamilton, MT from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., followed by a graveside service with full military honors at Western Montana State Veterans Cemetery, 1911 Tower Street, Missoula, MT from 2:30 to 3 p.m.
