Leonard C. Lindquist, 91, of Hamilton, MT passed away Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at the Marcus Daly Hospice and Palliative Care Center.  He was born January 23, 1926 in White River, SD to Clarence and Elizabeth Lindquist.

Leonard came to MT with his family at the age of 8. He attended school up Sleeping Child, Charlos Heights and Darby.  He joined the Marines during WWII in January of his Senior Year of high school.  After being discharged, he was called back into the Marines and served during the Korean Conflict.

Leonard was a member of Grace Lutheran Church where he was an Elder for 60 years.  He also taught Confirmation and Sunday School for many years.

Leonard was also a farmer/rancher who enjoyed his cattle.  Along with that came all the hard work of irrigating, haying, etc.  He worked hard at everything he did!  Every year he would help his children and grandchildren with their 4-H livestock.  He would haul their cattle to the fairgrounds and then take several of his own to enter in open class.  Leonard was a member of the Gelbvieh Association where he served as President of the association for years.

Since 1948, Leonard would travel to Arizona to sell Christmas trees.  He started selling trees with his father and has introduced a lot of his children and grandchildren to the business.

Leonard is preceded in death by his wife, Jennie; brother, Kenneth Lindquist; sisters, Carol Sawyer and Arlene Hopkins.

Leonard is survived by his sons, Dave and Scott; daughters, Carolyn, Jayne and Janet; brothers, Jim  Lindquist and Ed Lindquist; sisters,  Betty Else, Myrna Lindquist and Vivian Foley; 12 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson.
