Linda and I were friends and sorority sisters our freshman year in college at Mercer University. She was such a lovely, kind and sweet person. Also very smart. I was blessed that our paths crossed. Sincere sympathy to the family, What a joyous gift that she was in your life for such a long time.

I first met Linda as a teacher and fellow worshiper on Sunday mornings. She soon became a friend above all friends, a true prayer warrior, the light of Jesus in my life. Together we shared sweet, wild and crazy, sometimes gut wrenching adventures I will treasure in my heart always. Linda was an honest, dedicated, loving, persevering Southern gal who could entertain at a dinner party with the best of hostesses. I miss you every day, friend, but my thoughts of you debating with Jesus leaves my heart smiling. God bless your family with His perfect peace.

Mrs. Lovett was one of my all time favorite Colville teachers. She taught the mechanics of English better than college professors, had a fun sense of humor and a warm heart. I believe she had a huge impact on my long-term success and am so grateful to have known her. She will always be remembered fondly. I wish peace and comfort to all her family members and will keep them in my prayers.

Working on my family tree, I just found out recently that Robert Lovett and I are 2nd Cousins on his mother's side (our common ancestors are our great-grandparents, Thomas Jefferson James Sr. and Alice Asenath Cheatham who lived in Adrian, Georgia). I am so sorry to follow up on that discovery and learn that Cousin Robert has just suffered the loss of his beloved wife, Linda. Please accept my condolences to the entire family, and please contact me if you want to learn more about the James family. -- Bruce James

I am so sorry to hear of Mrs. Lovett’s passing. She will always be ’my favorite teacher’ as she was to so many students at Colville High School. I was lucky enough to have her for both English and American History. She made her each of her students feel special, and encouraged the best from us. I now live in Washington D.C., and each time I pass by the Library of Congress, the National Archives or the US Capital Building, I think of her… and how we went through the Declaration of Independence and the US Constitution (line by line by line) providing us with the understanding of our rights and responsibilities to be good citizens. We should all be so lucky to have teacher like her, that cares, that inspires and gives us the gift of knowledge. She will truly be missed!

Linda was always kind and wise and offered great advice. She amazed me with her young appearance and attitude and energy for teaching. May her family be comforted by the Lord's gentle embrace.

It was a pleasure to have known you, if only for an instant. In that brief time you shared many insightful and treasured nuggets of our Lord's Word in our bible study at the Assembly of God in Hamilton, Montana. We will all miss your gentle, kind, sweet Godly fragrance. "When peace like a river, attendth my way, When sorrows like sea billows roll, whatever my lot, Thou hast taught me to say, it is well, it is well with my soul.."

Mrs. Lovett was my 9th grade English teacher at Colville High School (1989-1990). She was a kind, patient person and a wonderful teacher. She was one of those rare teachers that seemed to be universally liked by students--I don't remember a single one of my classmates ever saying they didn't like her. I was sorry to hear of her passing. I will always remember her with fondness. Please accept my heartfelt condolences; may her legacy continue through the lives of her children and grandchildren, and may her memory give you comfort, even at this time of loss.

Dear Bob and family, I am so saddened to hear of Linda’s passing. I truly loved teaching with her at Colville Jigh School. She was always such a kind and wonderful woman with the ultimate professionalism. She was then, and will continue to be, a role model for me as how to conduct myself in school as a teacher and in my everyday life. I will forever remember lovely Linda. May God bless all of you.

Our most sincere condolences. Linda was a light in this world, and she will be missed by all who knew her. She is surely at the side of Christ right now, and although that won’t keep us from missing her, we know that it is temporary.

To the blessed family of our amazingly kind and wonderful friend, Linda ~
My heart is in a state of aching and blessing, because Linda was one woman who gave me the love of Christ, every time I saw her. She taught us, lead by example, and shined His light so gently, with Spirit and humor, too! I really love her, and I am so grateful to have known her, even a little bit, was enough to love her!
You are all in my prayers. She shared some lovely things about her family, and it was very clear how much she loved each of you!!!
Safe in the Arms of Jesus, Linda, dear so very dear lady! Thank-you... until we meet again at His feet. Yours in Christ, Rhi
