Marie (McClellan) Busa

Marie Busa was born Myrtle Marie McClellan, May 19, 1926 in Palo Alto, CA, and raised in the same city.  She passed away in her sleep on January 7, 2018 at Discovery Care Center in Hamilton at the age of 91.  She was the youngest of four children (2 girls and 2 boys). 

Just after Marie’s 15th birthday she met her future husband, Hugo Busa, and they were married 6 months later on December 14, 1941.  They had 2 boys, Francis and Richard, and then moved to the Santa Cruz Mountains raising their family in a small redwood valley.  After retirement they moved to Hamilton in 1977 and spent the next 35 years cleaning their woods on 57 acres, and exploring Montana like honeymooners.  They were married 73 years when Hugo died in 2013. They enjoyed hunting, shooting, fishing and camping together during this time.

Marie was a faithful wife and mother.  She took both roles very seriously.  She was very much a God-fearing and God-honoring woman, and raised her sons to be the same way.  Marie and Hugo faithfully served their church, Hamilton Assembly of God, and opened their home frequently to both local and out-of-state guests.  Together Marie and Hugo set the gold standard for married life and faithfulness to one another.  This lesson was NOT lost on their sons. 

Last October Marie was admitted to Marcus Daly Hospital for pain management and other care.  She never returned to her beloved condo on New York Ave.  Soon, she was moved to Discovery Care Center where her general health condition deteriorated very quickly and drastically.  There she passed away quietly.

She is survived by her sons and their wives, Francis and Cheryl Busa and Rich and Paula Busa, her granddaughters Kelly Robinson and Kayce Busa, grandson David Busa (deceased), as well as three great-grandchildren, Logan, Jillian and Benjamin Busa, all of Hamilton, along with nieces and nephews out of state.

Services will be held Friday, January 12th at 11:00AM at the Daly-Leach Chapel with Pastor John Weaver officiating.  Private interment will take place at Riverview Cemetery in Hamilton.  Condolences may be left for the family at www.dalyleachchapel.com
