Marjorie Nelson McLean, 93, of Hamilton, passed away Thursday, Aug. 2, 2018 at Beehive Homes where she has resided for the past four and half years. She was born Apr. 3, 1925 in Burley, Idaho, the daughter of Jesse Roy and Nellie (Livingston) Nelson.
Marjorie was raised in Burley, Idaho and there she attended and graduated from Burley High School. It was during that time that she met and married her forever sweetheart, Clyde Durrant McLean. They were married just a couple of weeks before she graduated high school and have had a life-time of adventures together.
Marjorie’s number one interest was her family, making memories and doing things together. She organized family trips and family reunions. She loved family get-togethers. She also loved flower and vegetable gardening, arranging floral bouquets, traveling, quilting, dancing, poetry. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and loved serving in the various auxiliaries of the Church. She served in the Primary, she served as a youth leader, she served in the Relief Society. She served for more than 18 years in the Spanish name extraction program, extracting genealogical information from Spanish church records, making those records available to genealogical researchers.
Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband Clyde McLean; two brothers, Don Nelson and Loren Nelson; one sister, Norma Jean Baird.
She is survived by a sister, Lois (Nelson) McLean of Randolph, Utah; four sons, Denny (Karren) Mclean and Joe (King) Mclean of Hamilton, Dave (Sharon) McLean of Florence, Michael (Sheryl) McLean of Mapleton, Utah; and one daughter, Linda (Mike) Hair of Malad, Idaho. She is also survived by 25 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and a couple or three gr-gr-grandchildren, making in the whole a posterity of 103 persons. She was greatly loved in life and will continue to be so in death.
Visitation will be held Monday, Aug. 6, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Hamilton, Montana, address 401 North 8th. Funeral services will immediately follow at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be at the Riverview Cemetery, Hamilton, Montana. Pallbearers and honorary pallbearers will be her beloved grandsons.
