Mika John Virtaneva

VICTOR – Mika John Virtaneva was born February 12, 1993 in Helsinki, Finland and passed away on October 4, 2018 in Victor.

Mika was diagnosed with the disease of schizophrenia this summer and he couldn’t bear to live with this debilitating illness.  He hid his pain from all, even those who knew him best.  A note with his last wishes was left for us, but our real comfort is in his well worn bible and hymn book.

Mika is survived by his parents, Kimmo and Monica; his brother, Kalle; his sister, Kaisa; his grandparents, Mirja Virtaneva and Walter & Deanne Martel; his aunts and uncles, Timo & Erja Virtaneva, Hanna & Juha Pinomaa and Chuck & Jan Martel; and his cousins, Mikko, Minna, Tuomas, Melina, Hannah, Maddie and Tyler.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 12, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. at the Daly-Leach Chapel in Hamilton.  In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made in Mika’s name to West House Crisis Facility, 1404 Westwood Dr., Hamilton, MT  59840.

We want to let sorrow work into our lives, more love for God’s son.  Amen.
