HAMILTON – Mildred Alice Long passed in her home peacefully Thursday, June 28, 2018 surrounded by family. She was born on her family’s homestead by Haxby, MT to Frank and Delila Carman on January 20, 1925.
The homestead was bought up for the Fort Peck Dam and they relocated to Deary, ID. From there she moved to Grantsdale with her 2 children, Ralph (Butch) Brown and Jeanie Brown. Years later Mildred met Oliver Long and they fell in love and married on May 24, 1947. Together they had 3 children, Gerald, Mary and Gloria.
Mildred’s first love was her husband, Oliver, and her family. She enjoyed gardening, painting and knitting. She truly had a green thumb! There was never a plant that didn’t flourish under her tender care.
Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Delila Carman; brothers and sisters, Jim, Victor, Vernon, Myrtle, Raymond, George, Donna and Dorothy; son, Gerald Long; grandchildren, Robert and John Donaldson, David Long and Jason Brown. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Oliver Long of Hamilton; son, Ralph (Butch) Brown; daughters, Jeanie Brown Long, Mary Harris and Gloria Anderson; grandchildren, Mike Brown, Debbie Miller, Diane Long, Danny Long, Jana Grenn, Becky Harris, James Harris, Sharon Donaldson and Mary Jo Donaldson; and many great and great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside services for Mildred will be held on Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at 1:00 pm at the Corvallis Cemetery. Condolences may be left for the family at www.dalyleachchapel.com.
