HAMILTON - Richard Hoerner, 80 of Hamilton, Montana died Sunday, August 5, 2018 at Marcus Daly Hospice from an ongoing illness.
He was born February 18, 1938 in New Salem, North Dakota to Peter Hoerner and Margaret Deitz Hoerner. On April 29, 1961 He married Jeanie Severns. He worked as a retail clerk and retired from Safeway after 30 years in 2000. He and Jeanie traveled the south west buying a place in Verde West near Parker Arizona where he enjoyed retirement to the fullest. Rich loved playing golf and camping in the beautiful Bitterroot, especially up the West Fork.
He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Ted Hoerner. Survivors include his wife Jeanie, son Bryan (Teri) of Hamilton, son Todd (Amelia) of Georgetown, Texas and daughter Joni (Frank) Gouse of Hamilton, eight grandchildren and one great-grandson.
The Rosary Service will be held on Thursday, August 9, 2018 at 6:30 pm at the Daly-Leach Chapel followed by a Vigil Service at 7:00 pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, August 10, 2018 at 11:00 am at St. Francis Catholic Church with a reception following at the Pastoral Life Center next to the church. Burial will take place at the Western Montana Veterans Cemetery at 3:00 pm in Missoula. Condolences may be left for the family at www.dalyleachchapel.com.
