CONNER – Robert Christopher “Chris” Ray, 61, of Conner passed away at his home from natural causes after a brief illness on Wednesday, October 23, 2019. He was born February 11, 1958 in Anaconda, MT the second son of Curtis Earl and Darlene (Perusich) Ray.
Chris was preceded in death by his father, Curtis in 1987 and his mother, Darlene in 2008. He is survived by his brother, Don (Jennifer) Ray and children, Tara (Sky) Jones, Elizabeth (Victor) Malsom and Seth (Hanna) Ray; his sister, Vicki (DJ) Wong and children, Cory (Laura) Nelson and family and Brook (DJ) Price and family; his sister, Jodi (Jim) Crippen and children, TJ (Stephanie) Crippen, Jordan Crippen, Ashley (Tyler) Boucher, Jayme (Logan) Livingston and Faith (Robert) Bauer and family; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Chris attended all twelve years of school in Darby. He worked for the U.S. Forest Service as a seasonal firefighter and the S & W Mill before going into real estate, working with his parents and brother at Curt Ray Realty for many years. During this time he met many lifelong friends that were clients and coworkers in the business.
Chris was a grateful soul with a gruff outer shell, a friend without measure to those who knew and loved him. Chris cared deeply about and was a protector when it came to family. He loved the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing and camping. Chris’s greatest joy was in his nieces and nephews.
A graveside service and interment will take place in the spring at Lone Pine Cemetery in Darby. Condolences may be left for the family at www.dalyleachchapel.com.
