Adelbert E. Reynolds

Adelbert E. Reynolds, 84 of Hamilton passed away June 13, 2012 at his home of natural causes. He was born February 24, 1928 in Victor, Montana, the son of the late Lewis Harrison Reynolds and Ida Winnifred (Hecht) Reynolds.

Del was raised in Victor. His grandparents moved from Springfield, Illinois area to Hazney, Montana in 1896 to raise wheat. Del's parents met at a social gathering during harvest time and married in November 1919. With older brother Alvin in tow, Del's parents moved to Emmet, Idaho in 1922, to be near Del's mother's parents and siblings. They returned to the Victor area in 1926, where Del was born two years later.

Del worked on the family ranch and milked cows mornings and evenings for the Gould family and later Bob Chamberlin.

In 1945, Del talked his mother into signing papers for enlisting in the U.S. Marines. He was seventeen. He returned to Hamilton in June of 1946. Del went to work at Taber Lumber Mill and the following year, he married Doris Louise Falk.

In 1950, Del was recalled to active duty for the Korean War. He received several decorations for his service including a Purple Heart for being wounded in action.

In spring of 1952, Del returned to Hamilton and began raising a family with his wife Doris.
Del continued his military career participating in the Army, Air Force and Airborne Reserves.

Del worked for many years at Anaconda Lumber Mills in Hamilton and evenings at the Texaco station. He later worked for US Public Health Service and Ravalli County Road Department from which he retired.

Del was a life member of the Hamilton Elks Lodge and was active at the Eagles. He was an avid bowler and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and packing into the mountains with his brother-in-Iaws, Richard Falk and the late Hank Falk. Del also enjoyed his childrens' school activities and attended many concerts and athletic events.

Del is survived by his wife Doris; a son, Adelbert E Reynolds, Jr. and wife Susan; two daughters, Rhonda Tingle, and Wanda and husband James Edinger; sister, Dorothy Pace (Jack) and six grandchildren, Ryan, Bryan, Brandi Jo, Tayne, Allison and Lindsy, and five great grandchildren and numerous nephews and nieces.

Del was preceded in death by his parents, Ida and Lewis Reynolds, brothers, Alvin, Harold and Richard and one sister Marjorie W. Irwin.

Pallbearers will be family members including Wes Falk, James Falk, Charlie Bronson and Tyler Jacobi. Honorary pallbearer is Richard Falk.
