Adelord H. Dame

September 17, 1917 — April 22, 2012

TUSCON, AZ - Adelord (Shorty) Dame, 94, of Tucson, AZ passed away April 22, 2012 at the Marcus Daly Hospice and Palliative Care Center of congestive heart disease. He was born September 17, 1917 in Benson, Sask. Canada, the son of Cyril and Eva Marie Dame.

Adelord grew on up on the family farm and attended a small one room country school. On June 14, 1945, he married his 'city girl' Lilas Andrews and moved her out of town onto their own farm. They were blessed with two children, Marci and Robert (Bob), and stayed on the farm for 10 years until immigrating to Glendive, MT, in October 1955, where he worked for a construction company and an oil company. In 1965, the family moved to Missoula, MT, where he worked as a mechanic and later on the North Slope in Alaska. Upon retiring, Adelord and his wife started Shorty's Antiques they owned until Lilas' passing in 2000.

In 2005, he moved to Tucson, AZ, to be near his son and daughter. Although his home was in Arizona, he always talked about coming back to Montana because it was the "best place in the world". Adelord got his wish when he returned to Montana a few weeks ago to live with his daughter Marci and her husband Phil.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lilas; son, Robert Dame; sister Florence Weber; and great-grandson, Jakob Hofmann.

Survivors include: Daughter, Marci (Phil) Healey, Hamilton; grandchildren: Tracy (Brad) Long, Missoula; Bruce (Laurie) Hofmann, Richmond, VA; Tanner Smith, Lakeside; Nicole (Bill) Brixey, Chandler, AZ; Dustin Dame, Tucson, AZ; Patrick (Dori) Healey, Boise, ID, 9 great grandchildren, daughter-in-law, Charmaine Piane-Dame, Marana, AZ; Sister-in-Law, Adele Perrie, Vancouver, BC., and special neighbor, LaDonna Black.

The family suggests memorials to the food bank in their area.

Special thank you to Dr. Walker Ashcraft and the Marcus Daly Hospice staff and volunteers who helped make Adelord's passing comfortable and dignified. Condolences may be left for the family at www.dalyleachchapel.com.
