Hamilton, Montana – On November 28th, 2025, breaking the hearts of everyone who knew him, Alan Leo Presswood passed away far too soon at his home in Hamilton, Montana at the age of 51.
Born February 22nd, 1974, in Reno, Nevada to Richard and Caralyn Presswood, Alan became a proud Montana resident shortly after graduating from Nevada’s Incline High School on the North Shore of Lake Tahoe in 1993.
Alan is survived by his mother, Caralyn Landacre and sister, Amy Presswood, both from Reno, Nevada; his Pride and Joy, son Riley Alan Presswood, daughter-in-law Brinle Presswood and his cherished granddaughters Ember and Blakely Presswood, all of whom live on the Fort Carson military base in Colorado Springs, Colorado. And not to be forgotten, Alan is also survived by his beloved 10 ½ pound feline Miss Kitty, who now resides with Alan’s mom Caralyn, in Reno, Nevada and is already proving to be a healer of broken hearts.
Alan is preceded in death by his father, Richard Allen Presswood.
As an unwavering San Francisco Giants Baseball fan and lifelong Forty Niners Football faithful, sports were a big part of Alan’s life. Alan was an avid huntsman and proficient bowhunter. During all four years of attendance, Alan played baseball for Incline High School and still holds a record for pitching a no hitter game with both his left and right arms. Alan was ambidextrous. The Class of 1993 remembers him as generous, mischievous and sometimes telling jokes that were not quite right for repeating. Apparently, Alan also threw a lot of parties at his house.
Prior to his death, Alan was employed as a contracted Security Agent for 13 years at Rocky Mountain Laboratories, a National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, in Hamilton Montana. His coworkers remember him as funny, sometimes grumpy and the sharer of snacks that were occasionally past their expiration date. Alan could also be found perusing the Super 1 Foods grocery store flyer for “good deals”.
Alan’s family would like to thank the Ravalli County Sherriff’s Department and Daly-Leach Chapel of Hamilton, Montana for their kindness and compassion during this difficult time.
Donations in Alan’s honor may be made to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, which provides mortgage-free homes to America’s heroes and their families: https://t2t.org/
