MISSOULA - Ann C. Siegrist, 90, of Hamilton, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 14th, at the Springs of Missoula with her family and hospice caregivers at her side.

Throughout Ann's long life she brought love, beauty, joy, laughter and magic to all those who knew her. Ann had a creative spirit that she expressed in her lifelong friendships and dedication to family, a love of books and literature, superb cooking, storytelling and her career working in hospitals in Minnesota, Colorado, Arizona and Montana.

Ann was born on March 14, 1923 in Latrobe Pennsylvania to the late Maria Cesare and John Patrick Doherty.

Ann was living in Times Square, New York when WWII ended. After the war, she met and married John Siegrist, who was a young soldier coming back from the front lines, fighting across France and Germany. Together they moved to Hamilton where their children were born and grew to love the Bitterroot Valley. After leaving Montana for the Midwest they returned to spend summers back in the Bitterroot's with grandparents, Mimi and Baba Barrett, and their many Montana friends.

During their retirement Ann and John lived on Boulder Creek and the West Fork of the Bitterroot, in a dream home they designed and built together.

Preceding Ann were her dear brothers and sisters, Joe, Betty, Jane, Jim, Jack, Nancy and Pousse; and her two son's, Anthony "Ricky" and Max Siegrist. Ann is survived by four of her children, Midge (Allan) Patzer of Ketchum, Idaho, Patrick (Liz) Siegrist of Minneapolis, Minnesota, "Gigi" Saudamini Siegrist of New York and Kate Siegrist and her husband Steven Begleiter of Missoula, MT; her grandchildren, Trevor (Mari) Patzer and great-granddaughter Sofie, Hilary Patzer, Makhesh and Metika Begleiter and Susan Opitz. The day of her passing was her son's Ricky's birthday remembered every year by her family.
