Arlene Betty Wolsky
Arlene Wolsky, at the age of 79, went to be with her Lord on Oct. 17, 2012. She was surrounded by her loved ones.
Arlene Betty Schlosser was born on May 23, 1933 on the family farm near Kensal, N.D., the daughter of John (Jack) and Bertha (Guenther) Schlosser. She attended a rural school and graduated from Kensal High School in 1951. She was baptized at the United Methodist Church in Kensal. She took accordion lessons and played for many functions. Arlene was a teacher for several years.
On June 20, 1952 Arlene was united in marriage to Ron Wolsky at her parent's home. Ron and Arlene started a dairy farm. Arlene was a member of the Homemakers Club and was an active leader in 4-H. She had a heart for kids.
In 1969 the Wolskys moved to the Bitterroot Valley where they had a dairy farm. Arlene was a 4-H leader for 40-plus years and started the Booster Club at Corvallis. Her family has devoted over 480 years to 4-H, with many national awards. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and taught Sunday School and VBS for many years. Ron and Arlene started an Elderly Care Home.
Arlene loved to play the accordion, she painted porcelain, sewed and crocheted, but her great love was documenting her family history. She was a great supporter of her family and spent countless hours attending sporting events, concerts, fairs, graduations, weddings, etc.
She is survived by her beloved husband Ron; eight children, 21 grandchildren and two great grandchildren: Mark (JoAnne) Andres, Lakeville, Minn., Jon and Nathan; Dave (Marie), Cando, N.D., Kate (Devin) Tolstad and Bob; Deb (Rick) Arnold, Park City, Jessica (Dylan Lancello) and Andrew; Becky (Tom) Campbell, Corvallis, Chris and Ben (Drea); Dori (Bret) Tintzman, Corvallis, Brandon (Megan), Jenna (Billy) Hendrickson, Justin, and Tyler; DeeAnn (Dan) Cranmore, Corvallis, Wesley, Whitney and Christa; Dan (Karen), Corvallis, Matthew, Luke and Sydney; Tim (Sonja), Missoula, Haley, Hannah, and Tristan; sister Carole Weinrich, and brother Edward (Dee) Schlosser. The family also hosted five foreign exchange students that became a special part of their lives.
Arlene was preceded in death by their son Chris, her parents, and two sisters.
The family would like to thank Pastor Vern Sanderfield, Dr. Thomas, Dr. Ashcraft, the Specialty Clinic, the Cancer Center at St. Patrick Hospital, Marcus Daly Memorial Hospital, and the Hospice Center for the care of Arlene.
Memorials in Arlene's honor may be given to Grace Lutheran Church, the Corvallis Community Events Center, or the Sidewinders 4-H Club.
