Arthur Scott Horsley

Arthur Scott Horsley - b. Apr 17, 1932, Price, Utah; d. Aug 30, 2014, Hamilton, MT. Son of Arthur Samuel and Erma Marie (Greenhalgh) Horsley.
After meeting on a blind date, Scott married Joan Harmon on Dec 24, 1955. A marriage that was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls Temple on Dec 16, 2000. They relocated to Southern California where they raised five children. Scott had a successful career as an engineer and manager for Hughes Aircraft Company and was active in the Church and the Boy Scouts of America, becoming the head of the LA District.
Dad started his US Air Force career Jan 4, 1951 as a Basic Airman. He served his country in the Air National Guard or Air Force Reserve for over 34 years, retiring as a full Colonel.
In 1990, Scott and Joan moved to Hamilton, Montana to retire on the land they had purchased 30 years prior.
Scott was a devoted husband, involved father and enduring example. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Joan, his five children: Jody (Tony) de la Motte-Hurst of Atlanta, GA, Arthur Brian (Cathy) Horsley of Newnan, GA, Christopher Mont (Tambra) Horsley of Walterboro, SC, Todd Scott (Leah) Horsley of Bluff City, KS and Michele Horsley of Hamilton, MT; 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Two grandsons, Tristan and Steven, have greeted him in the next life.
