Barbara Jean Hayes

HAMILTON - Barbara Jean Hayes, 61, of Corvallis went to be with the Lord on Friday, November 4, 2011. She went peacefully in her sleep at her home after almost 4 years of battling breast cancer. Barbara was born on September 11, 1950 at Fairchild Air Force Base in Spokane, WA and lived the majority of her life in Montana. She graduated from Sentinel High School ( Missoula) in 1968.

Barbara loved all animals especially her 6 dogs. She loved the mountains, woodworking, painting, camping in the motorhome and reading. Barb loved to ride on the motorcycle with Jim. She said that it was the next best thing to flying. She especially loved her family and friends.

Survivors include her loving husband of 24 years, Jim (Corvallis); her 4 children, Angela (Joe) McCrossin of Hamilton, Christina (Chris) Kuntz of Missoula, Aaron (Mara) Downing of Hamilton and Jacob Downing of Hamilton; 8 grandchildren,Matthew, Alyssa, Hannah McCrossin, Joshua Lamp, Michael and Steven Tyler Keith, Brea Kuntz and Isaac Downing ; and 5 great "grandchildren, Andrew, Austin and Brooke Lamp, Johnnee Rae and Colton Keith; her parents, Wayne and Verna Burgess of Hamilton; her sister, Carol (Bruce) Terry of Gilbert, AZ; her brother Brad (Jann) Burgess of Hamilton; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceeded in death her maternal grandparents, Howard and Vivian Platt; paternal grandparents, Buford and Lily Burgess. A very dear and close friend, Rita Schurman.

A Celebration of Barb's Life will be held at the Woodside Grange Hall in Woodside, MT on Monday, November 7th at 4PM " 7 PM. It will be an open house potluck.
