Barbra A. "Beeba" Mcmillen

RAWLINS, WY - Barbra A. McMillen, "Beeba", 86 of Rawlins, Wyoming passed away Thursday July 23, 2015 at Marcus Daly Hospice and Pallative Care Center. She was born April 1, 1929 in Denver, Co., the daughter of late Howard and Shella McElvain.

Beeba was raised in Colorado then California by an aunt before moving to Rawlins, Wyoming at the age of 16 where she lived with her aunt and uncle, Jo and Francis Huner. She finished high school in Rawlins and took business classes before going to work for Pacific Power and Light. She met her husband Gene McMillen while playing co-ed softball. They were married on Oct. 8, 1950. Gene and Barbra were owners of Gene's Sporting Goods, followed by the West Way Lodge in Rawlins. Beeba then retired to raise her daughter Heidi.

Beeba was keen on the outdoors. She loved hunting, fishing, and enjoyed nothing more than being at the cabin in the Snowy Range. She was a strong supporter of her family and friends and was always willing to help others in time of need. She loved watching her daughter and granddaughter play sports. She was a member of the Chapter A PEO in Rawlins. She was a longtime resident and business owner in Rawlins and supported the community in many different ways.

Barbra is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Heidi and Don Sanderson of Corvallis, MT.; granddaughter, Corinne Sanderson; cousins, Joey Crawford of Billings, MT., Jolene Lanka of Lander, WY, Kevin Zumbrennen of Billings, MT. and Helen Geis of California. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Gene, brother Jim McElvain and cousin Zach Lanka.

Funeral services will be held at St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Rawlins on August 14th at 10 am. There will be a reception at the church following the service. Donations can be made in honor of Barbara to the Marcus Daly Hospice and Pallative Care Center in Hamilton, MT. or to the St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Rawlins, Wyoming.
