Bernice Rosine Kearns

Bernice R. Kearns, 90, of Hamilton passed away on the 4th of July with the fireworks lighting up the sky. She was surrounded by her family.

Bernice was the youngest of 5 children born to Norman and Florence Douglas where she was delivered by a neighbor during a flood in Ekalaka, Mt. She lived on the family homestead until high school where her brother and she were boarded with a family in Miles City so that they could attend High School. After Graduation she moved to Kansas City, Mo to live with a relative. She worked as a typist for Montgomery Wards and then got a job with Southwestern Bell phone Company. She met and married Russell E. Kearns on April 8, 1955. They raised 3 Children (Cheryl, Randy, and Mitch). In 1970 they moved to Hamilton, Mt. to be closer to her Mom. Bernice wore many hats during her years on earth. She was a Real-estate agent, pink lady, waitress, employee security guard for J.C. Penney and a homemaker. She loved bowling and reading (especially her Bible) and was an avid gardener. Her yard and flowers were a sense of pride for her.

Her Faith in God and that there was a place for her in Heaven was always on her mind and lips as she would tell anyone who came within talking distance about her faith.

She is Survived by her Children; Cheryl (Steve) Tintzman, Randy (Vickie) Kearns, Mitch (Tobi) Kearns, 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers are; Cory Tintzman, Shane Fisk, Jason Kearns, Kyle Kearns, Darren Kearns, Gavin Kearns.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday July 14, 2022 at the Church of the Nazarene in Victor, Mt. at 11:00 am. Pastor John Capen is officiating and there will be a reception following interment at Victor Cemetery at the Neely Center in Victor.

The family suggests the memorials be made to the Church of the Nazarene at 803 5th Ave. Victor, Mt. 59875.
