Betty Marie Watson

October 1, 1924 — June 28, 2014

Betty Watson was born on October 1, 1924 to William and Effie May Richards in Delaqua, Colorado. She was the daughter of a coal miner. Her family relocated to Southern California when she was in High School. She married Bill McCorquodale in 1944 and relocated to Canada where Bill was a pilot in the Royal Canadian Air Force. Following the war Betty and Bill relocated back to Southern California where they raised their three children; Robin, Bill and Scott. Throughout her life she was a hard working wife and mother. Betty helped support her family and held a variety of jobs as a telephone switch operator, bank teller, waitress and office manager. She was an excellent cook and could do wonders with a pot roast! One of the leisure activities she enjoyed with her family when she was younger was trout fishing on the Truckee River in California and the Bitterroot River in Montana. She also enjoyed playing cards with her family.
Betty was a devout Christian with an immense love for her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was never far from her Bible and loved to tell others about God's love. During the last 13 years of her life she lived at Valley View Estates in Hamilton, Montana, where she was well known for having a sweet and loving spirit.
She was preceded in death by her 5 brothers and 2 husbands. Betty was married to her first husband Bill McCorquodale from 1944 to 1973 when he passed away. Betty was married to David Watson from 1977-2001. David passed away in 2001.
Betty is survived by her sister Mae Boyd, her daughter Robin Walker, her sons Bill and Scott McCorquodale, 8 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Betty went to be with Her Lord and Savior on June 28, 2014. She was laid to rest at Lone Pine Cemetery in Darby, MT. on July 2, 2014.
