Beverly Ann (Philippi) Ellis

April 18, 1933 — August 6, 2016

Beverly Ann Ellis, 83, of Hamilton passed away on August 6 at the Marcus Daly Hospice Center.  Beverly (Bev) was born on April 18, 1933 in Havre, Montana to Edward and Ann Philippi.

When Bev was 3 the family moved to Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.  She grew up in Coeur d’Alene where she met and married James (Jim) Ellis on November 22, 1951.  Jim was stationed at Fairchild AFB and upon his discharge, they moved back to Montana, and eventually settled in Cut Bank.

Bev loved cooking, collecting recipes, playing the piano, singing in the church choir, visiting with friends, Sinopah mountain, and most of all, her family.  She was a kind, loving and selfless soul – always thinking of others and ready to help in any way she could.  And she had a great sense of humor.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Cut Bank, active in P.E.O. and attended the Corvallis Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Ann Philippi; her brother, Edward Philippi Jr.; and her sister, Sharon (Philippi) Moore.  She is survived by her husband, Jim Ellis of Hamilton; her daughters, Carolyn White (Gordon) of Hamilton and Laurie Hochhalter (Brandon) of Louisville, Kentucky; her son, Ron Ellis of Las Vegas; five grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 20th at 11:00A.M. at Daly-Leach Memorial Chapel in Hamilton. Pastor Matt Leopold will be officiating. The reception will follow at the Corvallis Community Church CE building.

The family suggests memorials be made to the Marcus Daly Hospice Center.
