Blanche Audrey Jones, 97, of Hamilton, went Home to be with her Lord on Nov 10,2011 at Valley View Estates where she had been a resident for 4 years. She was born Jan. 9, 1914 in Pueblo, Colorado, the daughter of the late Ayres and Estelle Burnett.
Blanche was raised in Pueblo and graduated from Pueblo High School. While in high school, she worked at A& W Root Beer serving customers on roller skates. She also helped her mother during summers helping cook for the many hands on the ranch that her stepfather managed.
She married Lester Stoker in 1934 and they had 2 children, Ronald and Carol Lee. Lester left the family, leaving Blanche to raise two small children alone in Denver, CO. She provided for the children by working in an ammunition factory, a mining supply company and she also was a "Rosie the Riveter" during W orId War II. Blanche met Frank Jones, a serviceman stationed at Lowrey Air Force Base in Denver. They were married in 1946 and moved to Yonkers, NY, Frank's home. It was there that she started her career as a bank teller in Manhattan, NY. They later moved to Parlin and Matawan, NJ. After retirement Blanche and Frank moved to CA then to Florida. While visiting Carol Lee in Longview, TX, Frank 'Suffered a fatal heart attack. She stayed there for several years, then joined son Ron and wife Jean in North Branch, NJ. When they moved to Montana, she moved to be near them. After several years, she moved to Sapphire Lutheran Homes, Loveland Acres, then to Valley View Estates Nursing Home.
Blanche loved the Lord and always attended a church wherever she lived, spreading the Good News whenever possible, and was attending the Hamilton Alliance Church until her health deteriorated. She was a proud member of the DAR. Quilting, sewing, reading and doing puzzles and being with her family were her favorite activities. Blanche loved her family, especially the children, babysitting whenever needed, even when not. She was proud of Ron and Carol Lee and their respective accomplishments.
She is preceded in death by Lester Stoker; husband, Frank Jones; daughter, Carol Lee Blaschke; grandson, Ronnie Stoker; brothers, Clarence and John Burnett and sister, Dorothy Ritchey.
She is survived by son, Ronald E (Jean) Stoker, Hamilton; son-in-law Robert Blaschke, Willow Valley, P A; Stoker grandchildren: Randall, Rancho Murieta, CA; Pamela (Sean) Spillane, Belgrade, MT; Mark, Hamilton, MT. Blaschke grandchildren: Bob, Jr, (Charlene), Tega Cay, SC; Elizabeth (Hugo), Cochabamba, Bolivia; Philip (Noel), Rock Hill, SC; Joel (Jennifer), Bristow, V A; 23 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great- grandchild and 4 nieces.
