DARBY - Bonnie R. Evers of Darby passed away after a short battle with cancer on August 17, 2013, at the Marcus Daly Home Care and Hospice.
Bonnie was born August 20, 1939 to Clint and Mildred Roberts. Bonnie was a 12 year student of Darby Public Schools as was her mom, both of her children, and 2 of her grandchildren. In 1961 she married Wallace Evers. They had 2 children. Bonnie worked as a secretary for an attorney, was the school secretary in Darby for 8 years, kept books for Lawrence Evers Trucking for a short time, worked for Stoltz Connor Lumber for 18 years, and lastly worked at the Forest Service in Darby until she retired in 2004. Bonnie was the go to gal whenever you needed something organized and ran smoothly. Bonnie enjoyed playing bridge and pinochle, going to family reunions, attending sporting events, and cooking family dinners. Recently she helped with the Bitterroot Generations Celebration. Bonnie had many good friends and she cherished all of them. Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Wally, great grandson, Tucker David Smith, and her brother, Harold.
Bonnie is survived by her brother Jim Roberts, brother-in-law, Ed (Karen) Evers, her daughter, Stacy (Bill) Schlepp of Big Piney, Wyoming, her son, Scott (Marci) Evers of Hamilton, grandchildren Brian Schlepp, Amanda Amosa, Bobbie Sue Smith, Dustin, Patrick, Tanner and Marissa Evers, along with 6 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to Marcus Daly Home Care and Hospice, 1200 Westwood Drive, Hamilton, MT 59840-2345.
