Carey (The Paint Man) Lish, 71 of Hamilton passed away Thursday, December 5, 2013 at St. Patrick Hospital after a brief illness.

Carey served in the U.S. Army in Korea and Germany. Following his discharge he returned to Vancouver to pursue a career in sales becoming sales manager for Prudential. On a dare from a friend, he bought a taxi cab and drove for many years in Portland where he enjoyed the people contact. His very favorite job was being the "Paint Man" for Massa Home Center, where he took great pride in his ability to match colors, from the tiniest paint chip, a blade of grass or a flower petal. Even after he retired he got phone calls from old customers needing help with problems and he loved being able to help them.

Carey's sons, Mike Lish of Tri Cities, WA., Craig Lish of Seattle, WA., and Carey Jr. and son Colton of Portland, OR; step-daughters, Linda Rae and family of Houston, TX. and Bobbi Slowkowski, Tyler and James of Fairview, OR. It was instant bonding and love with the two families and is survived by his second family Gina and William Judd-Steinmetz, Erin and Amy of Rocky River, Ohio; Bill Judd, Kevin, Allison and Lily Judd, Bryan Judd and Kayley Judd all of Vancouver, WA., Michele Remsey, Brad, Robbie, Tanner and Morgan of Warren, Ohio, Kristi and Jon Edmondson, Dayna and Richie Eakle, Brianna, Floyd and Tristan, Joshua Edmondson Becky and Jaiden all of Hamilton; He is also survived by his loving brothers and their families, Harry Bennett and Kay, Bill Bennett and Debbie and their family, Jakob and Joanna and Charlee Ann Bennett, Brittania Bennett all of Gig Harbor, WA., Don Bennett and Jeanette of Port Orchard, WA; adopted sister, Kristi Johnson of Dixon, MT and very special niece, Nicole Cushman and Patrick of Gig Harbor, WA. He loved all his family and he adored his great grandchildren and took enormous pride in them.
He was a very special man who loved to play cards, especially Gin and took great pleasure in beating us which he did constantly. He loved movies, Westerns and Action being his favorites. He was also an avid reader, but nothing was better than camping and camp fires.
He will be missed every day but we know he will be watching over us.
