d. August 31, 2024

Hamilton

Carole Sabo passed away from the effects of Alzheimer’s disease on August 31, 2024 in Hamilton, Montana. She is survived by her sisters Barbara McNey of Hamilton and Lynda Oglesby of Phoenix, Arizona. Also nieces Michelle and Karrie, nephews Chris, Gregory, Eric and Stephen, great nieces and nephews and boyfriend Dave Niles. She is preceded in death by her brother Peter McNey and her parents Jean and Ernest McNey. Carole was born in Santa Monica, California in 1944 but grew up in the beautiful Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania, moving to Arizona in 1959. In 2011 she made the move to Darby and then Hamilton, Montana. She attended Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, AZ and Arizona State University in Tempe, AZ from which she obtained a Masters’ Degree in Public Education with a minor in Journalism. Her career included being a Teacher, Librarian, and Public Relations Administrator. Carole travelled to several foreign countries and she and her sister Barbara did a “Sisters Across America” trip to 18 states in 2004. She was smart, energetic and imaginative with a good sense of humor and entrepreneurship. What can one say about a life well-lived? We shall miss her energy and friendship. Alzheimer’s is a terrible disease; it robs one of one’s memories of which Carole had many. If desired, donations can be made to any charity working on a cure for this ravaging disease.

Thanks to Daly Leach Memorial Chapel for their kind and helpful support.
