Charles T. Barrett

Charles T. Barrett, Jr., of Hamilton, Montana passed away on Sunday, June 9, 2024 at Community Medical Center of Missoula. Charles was 63 years old.

Charles was born on May 31, 1961 in San Fernando, California to Ted and Judy Barrett. Charles graduated from Fullerton High School in 1979 and was a brother to two younger sisters, Stephanie and Melissa. He moved to Corvallis, Montana with his parents in early 1991. He eventually settled in Hamilton.

Charles was an amazing storyteller and had an excellent memory about places, people or events, sometimes confounding one with his ability to recall so many details. He was one of the kindest souls you would ever meet and was a lover of animals. He was a faithful Christian. He loved collecting radios and listening to broadcasts from far away places. He was a beloved uncle to his niece and nephew. While growing up, Charles loved playing baseball with his cousins, had a mean pitch, and was throughout his life an avid spectator of the sport. He was extremely fond of watching old science fiction movies and television shows. Although not formally trained, Charles was also very artistic.

Charles was the type of person who was always kind and friendly to people he met and he was especially devoted to the animals and pets he cared for in his lifetime. He is predeceased by his father Ted, mother Judy, and his sister Stephanie. During separate periods that both his mother and sister were in hospice, he gently cared for them. He is survived by his youngest sister, Melissa Hamill, his brother-in-law Paul Hamill, and his niece Emily and nephew Hayden of Elk Grove, California.

Charles was greatly loved and will be dearly missed by all his family and friends. A private family internment is planned at Riverview Cemetery in Hamilton.
