Charles Henry Hawkins

Conner " Charles Henry Hawkins Jr., 90 of Conner passed away Tuesday, February 22, 2011 at Valley View Estates in Hamilton.
He was born August 18, 1920 in New Haven, Connecticut to Charles Henry and Marion Gruber Hawkins. Charles was educated in Hartford, CT where he graduated from High School. Following high school he worked for Pratt and Whitney.
Charles entered the US Navy on Oct 5, 1938 serving as a photographer's mate first class. Following his discharge, Charles worked as a freelance motion picture cameraman and director. He made documentaries worldwide, including African Safari's, Olympic coverage, early missile launches at Cape Canaveral, TV News programs and work for the US Government.
He married Avis Elliot in 1942 in Hartford, CT. Charles was an active Mason and Shriner.
Surviving include his wife Avis of Conner; sons, Charles of White Sulphur Springs, MT and Jerry of Muncie, NY.
At his request cremation has taken place. No public services are scheduled. Arrangements are under the care of the Daly-Leach Chapel in Hamilton.
