Charles F. Olson, age 97, passed away March 29th, 2026 at the Beehive Homes in Hamilton after an extended illness.

Charles was born in Chicago, Illinois February 26, 1929 to John and Vera Olson. John and Vera were Swedish immigrants who came to the United States in 1923.

Charles spent his early years in Downers Grove Illinois, a suburb of Chicago. He graduated from Northwestern University in 1950 with a BS Degree in Geology. Following graduation, he spent 2 years in the U.S. Army with the Corps of Engineers.

Charles married Yvonne M. Still, August 28, 1956. They had three children, twins Robert and Robin Olson and a son Barry Olson. He was preceded in death by his wife Yvonne.

He is survived by his children, Robert Olson and his wife Kathy and their son Ryan; Robin Ireland and her children, Michael and Jelena; Barry Olson and his wife Theresa and their children, Kendra, Mary and Tristan; he is also survived by 8 great grandchildren.

Charles worked as a geologist for several oil companies, retiring in 1989 from Meridian Oil Company.

Charles enjoyed singing in the church choir at Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd. He enjoyed gardening, working in the yard, cooking, fishing and reading. His greatest joy was family gatherings.
