Chas Ericson

May 11, 1964 — July 26, 2010

CORVALLIS - Chas Ericson, 46, passed away on July 26, 2010. Chas was born on May 11, 1964 in Santa Rosa, California to Walt and Adele Ericson, not far from the family ranch. He grew up with his sister Carla on the ranch; learning to hunt, care for the land, and how to fix just about anything. Whenever his friends had a question about how things worked or how to fix something, they knew they could just "ask Chas". His parents and grandparents were hard working, loving influences on his life. As a first generation Swiss Italian immigrant, Grandma was always trying to fatten up her long lanky "Charlie" with her good cooking.

Chas graduated from Chico State University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He was a brilliant engineer and welder with the ability to create works of both beauty and utility. In 1988, Chas fulfilled his dream of going to Alaska where he met and introduced his dear friends Sarah and Andy, for which they will be eternally grateful. They enjoyed countless adventures together in the Brooks Range and on the North Slope of Alaska. In 1994, Chas met Alex, the love of his life. They married in 1998 and started a family a few years later. Ben was born in 2000 and Kristofer in 2002. Chas loved his boys with all of his heart. Nothing made him happier than spending time with his family. The family moved to their dream property in Corvallis, Montana in 2004 where they enjoyed the beauty of their own little farm with majestic mountain views. Chas was a wonderful father, son, and brother, a dedicated husband and the best loyal friend anyone could ever ask for.

Chas is survived by his sons Ben and Kristofer and his wife Alex of Corvallis, Montana, his mother Adele Mossi-Ericson of Petaluma, California, his father Walt Ericson of Santa Rosa, California, his sister Carla Ericson and her husband Stewart Axelrod of Conroy, South Carolina, and many loving friends. Chas was preceded in death by his Grandfather Ted Mossi, Grandma Emma Mossi and his Uncle Charlie.
