Christopher O. Holman of Hamilton went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, April 2, 2012, at his place of residence.
He was born on March 9th, 1939 in Wellesly, Mass. the son of the late Lester O. Holman and Jean Holman Simpson.
Chris was raised in Wellesley where he graduated from High School in 1958, after which he joined the USMC. Following serving in the Marines he worked as an apprentice in the machine shop in Mass. He then moved to San Jose, CA where he attended San Jose State College. During the Vietnam conflict Chris worked on Top Secret military projects for the Itek Corporation.
When there he met Betty Caver and they married on July 27, 1963. Tired of city life he and his family moved to Hamilton, MT in June 1969. In the early 1970's he stared Holman Machine Shop. He worked on various projects such as making optical parts for radiation therapy equipment that are used worldwide.
Chris was an avid military collector and gunsmith. He loved to target shoot, hunt and watch the wildlife. He was a lifetime member of the NRA, supported the Bitterroot Humane Society, and attended the House of Praise Church in Victor.
He is survived by his wife Betty of Hamilton; daughter, Lora and husband Robert Eschenbacher of Spokane, WA; two granddaughters, Kelsey Knight of Spokane, WA and Lindsay Knight of Hamilton; son, Jeff Cargile of Hamilton; sister, Ann (Ev) Keech of Devon, PA; brother, Steve Holman of NorthEast, MD; numerous nieces and nephews.
